Bills trade Sammy Watkins to Rams, land Jordan Matthews from Eagles

The Buffalo Bills have traded Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for E.J Gaines and a 2018 second-round pick, the teams announced on Friday. In a subsequent trade, the Bills received Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick from the Eagles in exchange for Ronald Darby.

Altogether, the trade nets the Bills second-round and third-round picks in 2018 but leaves the roster in a lesser state for the 2017 season. Matthews has been a relatively productive receiver in Philadelphia, but he doesn’t bring the big play ability that Watkins does.

This season, players will have the freedom to wear custom cleats during pregame, up until warmups, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell. The league will also be more flexible about the color of cleats players wear during games.

Previously, players could only wear the color of cleats their team chose. This year, players can choose white, black, their team’s primary color, or a secondary uniform color for their game cleats.

Serving the community has been a focus for Boldin, who was named the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year in February 2016. In April, he joined Donte Stallworth, Malcolm Jenkins, and Johnson Bademosi on Capitol Hill to fight for criminal justice reform.

Catching a ball one handed is hard. Catching it that far out in front of you is harder. Snagging it with your inside hand takes a grip that is difficult to comprehend.

I know, I know, he’s wearing incredible gloves. Every time Beckham does something incredible in pregame warmups, people point to the gloves. But hey, everybody else is wearing them too. Beckham’s the only one doing things that don’t make sense.redskins_011_d9f8bfe2eb025537-180x180

We haven’t even mentioned Alex Ovechkin or Nicklas Backstrom

It was a hopeful precursor to what it might look like if and when the Blues hoist Lord Stanley’s cup. This regular-season celebration and reception wasn’t a surprise, however.

As Commissioner Gary Bettman said back in August, Having the opportunity to come to a great sports town like St. Louis where the Blues have incredible support from fans and hockey is vibrant on all levels.

Things were indeed vibrant all weekend, and that’s why I couldn’t help but laugh and shake my head. As a St. Louis native, it was humorous to witness the weekend of NHL pomp and circumstance.

Elite Tyrell Williams Jersey While 46,556 packed Busch Stadium for an outdoor hockey game in the fog and rain, the NFL team that left town for Los Angeles under the guise of a fanbase lacking support and a town unfit to support it just finished its season 4-12 and is already turning away fans.

Notably, these youthful Leafs are the second team in history with a trio of 60-point rookie scorers (Matthews, 67; Mitch Marner, 61; William Nylander, 60).

We haven’t even mentioned Alex Ovechkin or Nicklas Backstrom, who quietly finished fourth in league scoring. This series has no shortage of star power.

The unfortunate reality of the aforementioned Group of Death is that the NHL will be out — at minimum — one of its top four teams in the first round. One of those casualties is guaranteed to come from this series. The defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins may find the road to a repeat difficult without top defenseman Kris Letang, but the Blue Jackets are reeling, too, having lost six of seven heading into the playoffs. Did we mention Sidney Crosby vs. Brandon Dubinsky?

Nationals vs. Astros odds 2017: Favored Houston looks to buck trends against Washington

The Washington Nationals are 12-1 in their last 13 games against the Houston Astros, including a current stretch of eight straight wins. The Nationals hope to keep that dominance going on Andrew Cashner Jerseys
the road this Tuesday night against the Astros.

Washington is a +150 betting underdog in Houston at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Tanner Roark will start for the road team against Charlie Morton and the Astros, who are going off as -175 favorites at home.

“But for me, personally, the street name has always been a consistent reminder that it is our job to ensure the Red Sox are not just multi-cultural, but stand for as many of the right things in our community as we can — particularly in our African-American community and in the Dominican community that has embraced us so fully. The Red Sox Foundation and other organizations the Sox created such as Home Base have accomplished a lot over the last 15 years, but I am still haunted by what went on here a long time before we arrived.”

What complicates matters for the organization, and prevents it from simply saying “It’s changing today, the time has come,” is that the road is a public road. It is supported by taxpayer money Zach Fulton Jerseys
and falls under the city’s jurisdiction. It is only closed on game days, but that still leads some to believe that the team can make this decision unilaterally.

Not only do the Red Sox have to agree that the time has come but so do any other businesses that abut the road. Fortunately, one other owner (the D’Angelo family) does, and they are on board with a potential switch as well.

Dodgers vs. White Sox 2017 odds: Streaking Los Angeles heavy Tuesday betting favorite

Amara Darboh Jersey
The Los Angeles Dodgers are 9-0 over their last nine games with three straight series sweeps against the Miami Marlins, Kansas City Royals, and Arizona Diamondbacks. The Dodgers will be going for a 10th straight win Tuesday night in the first game of a two-game series against the Chicago White Sox.

Los Angeles is a -300 road favorite in Chicago at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for the Dodgers against Miguel Gonzalez and the White Sox, who are massive +250 home underdogs.

But it’s not just Judge and Stanton, though they are the favorites. Another rookie slugger, Cody Bellinger of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is in the field, as is last year’s rookie power sensation Gary Sanchez, Judge’s teammate in New York.

Minnesota Twins slugger Miguel Sano and Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas are also in the field. Justin Bour along with Stanton gives the host Miami Marlins two players to cheer. Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon rounds out the field.
Emmanuel Mudiay Jersey
Ichiro signed with the Orix Blue Wave at age 18, and played nine seasons for them, during which time he had a career .353/.421/.522 slash line and racked up a measly 8.12% K-rate. He won seven straight batting titles, and in 1997 he lasted 216 consecutive plate appearances without striking out. Understandably, many MLB teams were interested in him, but before they could acquire him the Blue Wave first had to agree to post him.

MLB power rankings: 13 teams best suited to win in October

Before we get to 2017 juggernauts like the Dodgers, Astros, Yankees, Cubs and Nationals, let’s start this post-trade deadline power ranking with a quick history lesson.

Youth Reuben Foster Jersey In 1991, Mark Lemke, a career .225/.290/.303 hitter at that point, hit .417 with three triples and a 1.170 OPS in the World Series.

In 1972, Gene Tenace hit four World Series home runs after hitting five in his 82 regular-season games that year.

In 1987, Tom Lawless smacked a home run and gave us this unforgettable bat flip in Game 4 of the World Series. Lawless hit just two regular-season home runs in his 343-game major-league career.

Goldschmidt’s game, though, gave the Cubs an idea of how to handle him Friday.

Meanwhile, the most overlooked player Thursday may have been Indians’ starter Corey Kluber. The Klubot was the footnote in the lead-up to the Indians’ matchup with the Yankees because it was Sonny Gray’s debut, but he was anything but a footnote in the game. He tossed a complete game three-hitter that featured one run, one walk and 11 strikeouts in a 5-1 Indians win. The Yankees surely hope they don’t have to face Kluber in Game 1 of the ALDS.

Youth Johnny Boychuk Jersey Oh, Hansel Robles what fodder you gave every person who will talk sports Friday. After retiring all three batters he faced in the eighth inning, the Mets reliever hit the first batter in the ninth, then after a sacrifice bunt, he intentionally walked a batter and then walked two more to push the final run across home plate in a 5-4 loss to the Rockies. What’s worse, the final pitch of the game resembled a Nuke Laloosh offering, more so than it did that of a professional pitcher.

Rockies closer Greg Holland, MLB saves leader, out after kitchen mishap

Nikola Mirotic Kids Jersey Rockies closer Greg Holland’s huge bounce-back season has been sidetracked by a kitchen knife.

The MLB saves leader with 33, Holland cut the index finger on his right (throwing) hand in a kitchen accident earlier this week and is day to day, manager Bud Black told reporters Wednesday (via ESPN.com).

The 31-year-old lefty is a dependable innings eater who is 5-7 with a 4.29 ERA in 119 2/3 innings this season. Perhaps more importantly, he has plenty of post-season experience dating to his time as a member of the Cardinals from 2008-2016. In seven post-season starts, he has a 3.94 ERA.

Tajae Sharpe Kids Jersey ESPN’s Buster Olney also reported a source said the first-place Yankees may not be done bolstering their rotation, as they’re still in the hunt for coveted Athletics starter Sonny Gray.

The Twins will get right-handed prospect Zack Littell and lefty prospect Dietrich Enns from the Yankees, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post. In addition to Garcia, the Twins are also sending the Yankees cash considerations in the deal.

The Yankees are fortunate to have a hitter who possesses a speed/power combination as a leadoff hitter. In Tampa Bay, the Rays have primarily used three players at the top of the order: Mallex Smith, a traditional speedster, and a power tandem of Corey Dickerson and Souza.

Dickerson, after a brief glance at his batting history, seems completely out of place at the top of the lineup. Dickerson is more of a free swinger (6.4 percent walk rate), yet he prefers not to change his approach when hitting first.

How much money is too much to pay an NFL quarterback?

Kyle Fuller Authentic Jersey
Kirk Cousins is going to be expensive for Washington to keep longer than the 2017 season. After giving him the franchise tag for a second consecutive offseason, Cousins is set to make $23.94 million and become a free agent next spring.

Washington failed to negotiate a long-term deal with the quarterback before Monday at 4 p.m. ET. Now, Cousins will be locked into a one-year deal and unable to negotiate a new contract until the 2018 offseason.
Jimmy Smith Authentic Jersey
In NFL Network’s countdown of the top 100 players in the league, Winston landed at No. 57. That’s probably a tad premature considering Blake Bortles and Philip Rivers are the only two quarterbacks with more interceptions over the last two seasons.

If Winston can continue to grow as a player and a passer, he’s well-positioned to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and take the Buccaneers on a playoff run for the first time since Jon Gruden was the team’s head coach. And just because it’s Jameis, it’ll probably come with some ridiculousness, too.

Lastly, when you start with a run-based offense, it opens up the play action for success. Play-action passes are generally easier reads for the quarterback. The linebackers feel run, suck up, and you throw a crosser behind them. Not as complicated as spreading it out.

Without much help at wide receiver, Mariota had a much-improved second season before breaking his ankle in Week 15. Mariota threw for 26 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. He had a top-10 quarterback rating, and his offense was just above league average.

Where Mariota shines, where it counts the most, is in the red zone. Lots of offenses can move between the 20s. That’s easy. The field is spread out, and there are plenty of holes to find long chunk plays. In the red zone, things happen fast.

Buddy makes a connection with Josh Framm and his family and becomes famous in town for his dog tricks.

Question marks remain at tight end, too. The team swapped out its only skill position Pro Bowler since 2013, Gary Barnidge, with an uber-athletic replacement in rookie David Njoku. Njoku’s mismatch potential is not in question, but his ability to produce on a consistent level is. He had only 64 receptions in two seasons at Miami, and only six of his 22 collegiate games ended with more than three catches. He’ll be an important security blanket for Kessler or Kizer or Osweiler, but an unreliable one as a rookie.

The good news is an underrated tailback corps should provide relief, especially playing behind a charged-up offensive line. Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson were an effective platoon in 2016, making big plays and finding room to run despite an underwhelming passing attack to distract opposing defenses. The pair combined for more than 2,100 yards from scrimmage last fall, proving especially useful as check-down options for a team with few downfield threats.

The villain in the first movie, Norm Snively, actually had a direct relationship to Buddy. He was Buddy’s abusive owner — Buddy’s origin story exists because of him. Snively worked as a terrible party clown, and Buddy was his sidekick. During a children’s birthday party, Buddy gets rough during a ball trick (I’m assuming he was fed up with Snively’s bulls*** at this point), and the both of them cause a mess at their client’s house. Snively gets angry and threatens to send Buddy to the pound, but Buddy escapes after falling out of an open truck bed.

After that, Buddy makes a connection with Josh Framm and his family and becomes famous in town for his dog tricks. Snively learns about this and tries to steal him back for his traveling act. Snively is the only villain in the franchise who gives the story any stakes.patriots_126-180x180

Pacers troll Mariah Carey’s NYE nightmare with ‘Lip Sync Cam’

While Mariah Carey’s camp and Dick Clark Productions fight over who’s to blame for the singer’s New Year’s Eve lip sync catastrophe, the Pacers are having a little fun with it. One day after the baffling debacle, the Pacers used a Lip Sync Cam featuring Carey’s Emotions. The fans loved it.

No player has helped himself more than Kennard this season, in the eyes of both the public and NBA scouts. Prior to the season, no one had the 6-6 wing out of Ohio as a top 60 prospect in this draft. It was assumed that with Grayson Allen returning and all of the stellar freshmen coming to Durham, N.C., Kennard might end up as an odd man out. Instead, as the Blue Devils slogged through injuries, Kennard emerged as a legitimate All-American candidate and a potential first-round pick.

Kennard has become an elite offensive weapon. He’s averaging 20.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, while posting an absurd 26.9 PER and 66.9 true-shooting percentage. Particularly, Kennard excels as a shooter coming off of screens or as a weapon in dribble hand-offs. Those scenarios allow him to gain space to use his elite shooting ability as a weapon, as well as utilize his improved ball-handling ability to attack overzealous defenders when they close out.
Game Ricky Wagner Jersey
Limited Kids Matt Barkley Jersey The key for Kennard this year is that he looks stronger physically than he has in the past. That’s affected the way he handles contact, as well as the way he handles the ball on a string. His fluid shoulder feints and head fakes have more utility now, as he’s able to push forward instead of just being reliant on his jumper. He’s now capable of getting into the teeth of the defense, where he’s a true triple threat option to shoot, or drive, or dish and create looks for teammates. Indeed, Kennard’s superior basketball IQ shows well here, as he’s a tremendous passer who has handled some lead ball-handling duties for Duke.

Nikola Jokic continues hot play as Nuggets knock off Pacers

Authentic Alexander Steen Jersey
In the star-dominated NBA, where many players can be identified by shorthand (LeBron, Steph, KD, The Beard, etc.) the Nuggets are a blue-collar, ensemble team.

There are no superstars in Denver, just a collection of very good players — who happen to be playing great basketball right now.

Take forward Nikola Jokic. The 22-year-old forward scored 30 points and added 17 rebounds and five assists Friday night to lead the Nuggets to a 125-117 win on the road against the Pacers.

It’s Denver’s sixth win in the last eight games, and leaves the Nuggets 1 1/2 games up on Portland for the No. 8 playoff seed in the West.

Plenty can happen in the next couple of weeks, but for now, the Nuggets (35-37) are showing no sign of letting go of that possible playoff spot. Jokic (21.2 ppg in his last nine games) isn’t the only ensemble player stepping up big down the stretch. Forward Wilson Chandler scored 24 against the Pacers, and forward Danilo Gallinari chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Those questions make him the most volatile NBA Draft prospect in recent memory. At this stage, with teams possessing relatively little information about his health compared to what they will have, it’s impossible to get an accurate read on his draft stock.

Arthur Moats Authentic Jersey LeBron will be a free agent after the 2017-18 season, and the rumors about him joining a talented young Lakers team will continue to linger. He left Cleveland once. Don’t be surprised if the disarray within the front office makes him consider doing it again.
